Founded in 1997, Zadig&Voltaire is a French Fashion House has created and established a new idea of luxury and has been able to build up a solid consensus among customers all over the world, giving life to a real community of loyal supporters.
Thierry Gillier, founder of the brand, took inspiration for the brand’s name from the philosophy, charismatic and brave protagonist of the novel “Zadig or The Book of Fate” by Voltaire.

Pure and precious materials, Extremely creative and unic fabrics play a major role in the brand’s collections, especially the cashmere, the cult fiber of the House, Thierry Gillier modernized the way it was worn, revisited the cuts and customized the versions through the inscription of messages or names in colored intertia, genuine identifiers of the universe of rock ’n’ roll often used by Zadig&Voltaire, like the skull or the angel.
The House’s creations, dedicated to women in the first place, were soon directed to men as well, and then children in 2006. Same year, Cecilia Bönström was appointed as artistic director for the brand. Responsible for a team of six stylists, she presides, from the design studio, over the development of all of the collections.
Faithfull to its universe, Zadig&Voltaire developed in the meantime its own collection of accessories, bags and shoes before creating the DELUXE collection, guided by a desire for French excellence and exception.
With the launching the same year of its own fragrance Tome 1 – and the launching a year later of an eyewear collection, the brand imposed its concept of “own universe”, where its vibrant and glamorous energy conveys its spirit of freedom.

Zadig & Voltaire, which embodies a new type of French luxury and has about 300 points of sale in the world, can rely on a strategic distribution network.


Zadig & Voltaire is all about casual-chic: it is a state of mind, a musical inclination, fashion as a bold statement. With rock’n’roll in its blood and art as its inspiration, the brand has naturally become a “concept store” ahead of its time. In stores, its collections are accompanied by music compilations from the brand’s label. It is art and easy luxury: this was Thierry Gillier’s vision.
